An outsider artist looking in

Armchair had his first exhibition of paintings and drawings at the age of sixteen at a local Arts Centre in the small market town of Tamworth in Staffordshire.

It wasn’t until 2022, some 45 years later that he had another work exhibited. This time it was a piece called ‘I used to love you’ shown in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and featured on the BBC2 TV programme “Summer Exhibitionist” (at 6m 09secs) hosted by comedian Joe Lycett. Snap happy

Armchair also trained as a professional photographer and still feels that thrill when capturing those precious moments of real life. Take a look at some of his snaps when you have a moment.
